Activision CEO Bobby Kotick spoke freely at an investor meeting about how his company plans on keeping World of Warcraft relevant. Basically, his answer was along the lines of … Activision Blizzard will let Blizzard do their thing, they know what they are doing. Bobby Kotick: “For starters, [Blizzard] has probably half a billion dollars invested in the franchise over 15 years. They have hundreds of people involved in refreshing the content every year. Remember, when we first started looking at it, it appeared to us like a game in an insurmountable product category [in which] EA, Microsoft, Sony and scores of venture capital investments had been put to work unsuccessfully in trying to develop massively multiplayer games as a product opportunity.”
