I was among the lucky people who was safe during the Superstorm Sandy. I am a resident of New York City, disabled, and have lived in a shelter for the homeless for nigh two years. Sandy has no doubt left thousands of families homeless overnight, and hungry. Not something I wish anyone to endure. Some suffered cold temperatures for lack of electric power for an entire week.
It dreads me to think so many people will have to live in shelters indefinitely.
I was deeply disheartened to see in local TV news channels how the New York City and nearby areas: Brooklyn, Queens, lower Manhattan, Long Island, and New Jersey were hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.
The images of several large urban communities underwater, families trapped, the loss of lives, and a lifetime of property and personal belongings destroyed make us realize how vulnerable everyone is even in the dubbed “capital of the world”. It’s only the heart and soul of people who cares about others what gives hope to those in the thick of the disaster.
I’m so deeply moved to see Blizzard Entertainment care about what happened to victims of the Superstorm Sandy. When you buy the Cinder Kitten for $10 — 100% of those ten bucks are going to relief victims of Superstorm Sandy. This pet will serve to you as a memento of your support to the victims. Donate now.
