Today, Blizzard Entertainment sent out 250,000 beta invitations to the World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers. That’s on top of the 550,000 invitations sent a few weeks ago. I have been in all WoW betas since 2004, and I can’t remember a single precedent where Blizzard had sent a total of over 800,000 beta invites. I welcome anyone who is able to provide links to past betas having this many beta invites.
Irreverent Speculation
It’s hard to speculate on this, but with this many beta testers giving bug reports and feedback I have to guesstimate Blizzard’s intention might be to ship Mists of Pandaria around July-August (tops) rather than the usual November-December release date window.
A few moments ago, we initialized a new wave of 250,000 invitations to the Mists of Pandaria beta test. These are all invitations for World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers, and it should be a few hours before the e-mail notifications for all recipients have been sent.
If you want to make absolutely sure that you got an invite, just check your games list in Battle.net Account Services.
As always, thank you very much for your enthusiasm in helping test Mists of Pandaria. We really appreciate your feedback. – source
Blizzard will send more than 800,000 invites this time as all annual pass holders will eventually get one, not to forget opt-in, press and other invites.
These huge invite numbers and how fast they got there also lead me to guess they want MoP out earlier than usual.
I agree with you, guys. I think this beta is going to be shorter than usual, maybe 3-4 months.
Annual pass holder here, still no invite.
I did get a TERA beta invite though. Bah.
can i have 1 invite plz lukic92@hotmail.com
