Snow storm or not, I embarked into an adventure traveling on a Sunday to the 2013 Toy Fair New York. Nothing like visiting the Jacob K. Javitz Center. Once you go around the corner and see the building, you realize you are about to get overwhelmed by a ton of imagery, geekiness-fix, and joy!
I got my press badge at the Hall 1E, and after checking in with the Information Booth to find out where to find USAopoly, I raided their hall at booth # 457.
Turns out I was raid and taken by surprise. I think I have never gotten such a friendly welcome before. I met USAopoly Director of Marketing Jeanette Best for the first time last year’s Toy Fair.
Today, when I arrived to their Hall, I began to process in my mind to extend my hand to handshake her, following protocols, but before my hand could go out I was welcomed by Jeanette with open arms as she walked toward me, and warmly hugged me.
It’s so awesome to be a fansite/community representative.
Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft Edition
I was ready to interview USAopoly’s Jeanette Best and Art Director Adam Sblendorio, but I was told the game board is still in development. Things could change overnight, and we agreed to gather more questions from the community and to email them.
What I want to share with you guys is that Blizzard Entertainment is very involved in the development of this Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft Edition. The artwork and other aspects of the game board will be developed internally by the Blizzard Art Team.
Please post your questions about the Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft Edtion below, on Facebook, Twitter or my Mdragon email. USAopoly and Blizzard Entertainment will respond your questions.
What little I could learn about this product is the Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft Edition contains:
- 1 Game Board
- 50 Cards with 300 Questions about the World of Warcraft
- 36 Widgets
- 6 Wedge Holders
- 6 Pawn Movers
- 1 Die
- Instructions
Note: These are not set in stone. I think I recall I heard 600-700 Questions. Not sure. This product content was read from the exhibited box.
A still undetermined ratio of questions will come directly from fans at some point. USAopoly is popular for involving the community in some decisions. Fans voted to choose the final pieces of the Monopoly: World of Warcraft Edition, for example.
I’m very excited about this product. Many fans in our recent Reddit post already say they want to buy this edition.
Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft Edition is slated to hit retail stores on Fall 2013 for $24.95.

Mega Bloks World of Warcraft – 2013 Spring & Fall Collection
I visited Mega Brands (umm, booth?) … fortress # 751 to schedule an appointment. After checking all what Toy Fair has to offer, I returned at 5:00pm. I learned Dave Burgess is no longer at Mega Brands, which saddened me. He was my contact at New York Comic Con. Great guy.
Tanya Furci-Argento welcomed me and showed me the Mega Bloks World of Warcraft section. She’ll be my new contact for upcoming preview images and review copies. Her colleague, who knows more about the brand filled me in on Mega Bloks’ plans.
Mega Bloks is changing their strategy a bit by introducing different price point products: The sets, the three-creature packs, and the Mystery chest-like packs containing random armor and weapons to create your own Mega Bloks World of Warcraft characters.
The Creature Pack 1 contains a Fire Elemental and a Ghost Wolf. The Creature Pack 2 contains a ghostly crow and a son of Har’koa. The Creature Pack 3 contains a yellow Murloc and a blue Murloc. What each of these Creature Packs have in common? Each has a hearthstone-like chest containing a mystery creature.
The 2013 Spring Collection contains the following new items:
- Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Sha of Anger – contains the Sha of Anger and Chen Stormstout.
- Mega Bloks World of Warcraft – Goblin Shredder
- Mega Bloks World of Warcraft – Dragon Turtle and Windpaw
- World of Warcraft Mega Bloks Horde Faction Pack Rojo
- Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Swift Gryphon and Graven (Alliance Worgen Death Knight)
- Alliance Worgen Priest Gendrik
- Goblin Wrenchroar
- Gnome Karving
- Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Goblin Trike and Pitz (Horde Goblin Warrior)
- Mechano-Hog
The 2013 Fall Collection:
- Nefarian’s Descent Set (91049) contains a Nefarian dragon and a Draenei. This is the first time a Draenei joins the Mega Bloks World of Warcraft family.
- Garrosh’s Throne Set – contains Garrosh, his throne (with Mannoroth’s skull above), a Blood Elf Warrior and a Worgen Death Knight with a Stone Drake.
