A lot of people are unsure how to acquire Lovely Charms. You need 10 of them to create a Lovely Charm Bracelet for Garrosh or Varian.
I have heard there’s a bug in this quest “A Gift for the Warchief” if you have the Darkmoon Faire quest: “Test your Strength” from the Strongest Lady. If you have many grisly trophies complete that quest first, then move on to the bracelets quest. Or drop the Test your Strength quest from your quest log, to be able to complete the bracelets quest.
The Lovely Charms drop from killing mobs that grant honor or reputation (I assume). Seems you don’t need to loot a mob. As soon as the mob dies, a Lovely Charm appears in your inventory.
Those who wish to farm these to sell in the Auction House, go to the Fleshworks in Icecrown. There are plenty of mobs there with less than 12,000 HP. They spawn fairly quick. If you completed the Fleshworks quests in the past, you will see Argent Crusade NPCs battling the Scourge, so you won’t have to worry about aggro. There’s a high percent drop rate — around 50%. Got 10 Lovely Charms in about 3-5 minutes.
If you go to each city to pick each quest, and head off to farm Lovely Charm — you would have to go back to each city a second time to turn in the quest. Bad strategy, and time consuming.
I’d recommend to gather 40 Lovely Charms — takes about 20 minutes or less. Then go only once to Orgrimmar, Thunderbluff, Ruins of Lordaeron and Silvermoon City (Horde) or Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus and Exodar (Alliance) to pick the quests from Kwee Q Peddlefeet. That way you only have to do one trip. You can turn in the quest right there at each leader with the bracelets already in tow.
Kwee Q Peddlefeet
You can find Kwee Q Peddlefeet in the following cities:
Horde
- Orgrimmar – Next to the Auction House
- Silvermoon City – The Bazaar, near the Auction House
- Ruins of Lordaeron – King Terenas throne room
- Thunderbluff – by the pond located near the lift.
Alliance
- Stormwind – near the Bank
- Ironforge – near the Bank
- Darnassus – near the path leading to the Temple of the Moon
- Exodar – Outdoor, near the main entrance to exodar (not backdoor)
Buffs
After turning each quest from Kwee Q Peddlefeet, each leader will grant you a Love Card with a special buff (either Agility, stamina, intellect or spirit by 32) — not bad for your Deathwing raid dungeon runs.
Another great way to farm these is to go to the Valley of Fallen Heroes (north of Corp’rethar) and kill the packs of 8 Converted Heroes. The drop rate is the same as what MD was talking about, they respawn pretty quickly and can be killed very fast in large numbers. This is useful for many seasonal events, since they often feature items like the Lovely Charms as currency.
Erratum: I checked, it seems the drop rate has been lowered this year. 🙁
