Ghostcrawler reports the Luck of the Draw buff will see a increase to a maximum of 15% to damage, healing and health. Before anyone nerd-rages that Blizzard has succumbed to QQ, in fact the Cataclysm heroic dungeons have felt really hard not because it was intended, but because the Luck of the Draw buff was not working … AT ALL. Zippo. It was just a paperweight.
The Cataclysm heroic dungeons feel like a breeze when you are organized with a guild and vent. Generally, you are well geared with guild raiding. However, the Luck of the Draw buff kicks in when random PUG players use the LFG tool to compensate for the lack of group coordination.
Ask any PUG group what’s the hardest Cataclysm Heroic Dungeons and you will always hear Stonecore at the top, followed by Shadowfang Keep (first boss), and probably Blackrock Caverns (Beauty). Try killing Beauty in a PUG, and you will see what I mean. While Ghostcrawler didn’t mention which dungeons were affected by this unintended bug, it’s clear some of these Heroic dungeons felt really hard for PUGs.
The changes in patch 4.0.6 will make these dungeons the way they intended them to be. So there is no nerf, or caving in to QQ. It won’t affect Elite Guilds. The difficulty will remain the same. This change only benefits PUGs via LFG tool. Share your feedback at Ghostcrawler’s blog.
