It’s not April’s Fools yet, but I certainly fell for this one. It came from René Koiter (Twincruiser), but just because he’s one of the awesome-cool Sons of the Storm and he looks damn cool disguised as Jim Raynor he’s forgiven. Wouldn’t it be cool though if it was true?

Even if it doesn’t become true, I don’t know. Maybe René and some Blizzard employees could make a 10-minute StarCraft machinima with live actors. Just for the fun of it and kicks. Check out the epic and legendary Sons of the Storm website.

René Koiter has made public appearances disguised as Jim Raynor at BlizzCon 2010 and 2011.

There’s no doubt this was meant as a Halloween joke. However, I remind you the Pandaren race was an April’s Fool joke in Warcraft III, and out of the blue the Pandaren is a playable race in the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria upcoming expansion.

Legendary Pictures is currently holding the rights for the World of Warcraft film adaptation with director Sam Raimi.

Speculation-Mode On

On second thought, did you — gasp — did you just see the Legendary Pictures logo at the bottom-right corner? Could it be a hint leaked in the shape of a joke? Maybe Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment are talking about a StarCraft Motion Picture Adaptation? Would you love to see that come to happen?

The StarCraft Jim Raynor action figure is coming out on January 2012 by the way. Pre-order here.

BUT, one big reveal was kept safe and secure, only to be presented this day on Sons of the Storm. Proudly, we are announcing the official production of the motion picture adaptation of StarCraft, chronicling the events of the first chapter in the sci-fi video game epic and the collision of the three dominant races of the Koprulu Sector…

Naahhhhh, I am just messing around. But one can certainly dream 🙂

Happy Halloween!
