The Video Game Awards 2010 by Spike TV has announced the 2010 award nominees.
This is very much definitely the year of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty.
It was nominated for the 2010 Best PC Game Award along with Fallout: New Vegas, Mass Effect 2 and Sid Meier’s Civilization V.
Blizzard Entertainment has been nominated as the 2010 Studio of the Year for the release of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. Blizzard will compete with Bioware (Mass Effect 2), Bungie Studios (Halo: Reach) and Rockstar San Diego (Red Dead Redemption) in this category.
Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty was nominated for the VGA Best Multi-Player Award along with Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Halo: Reach.
The Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty voice actress Tricia Helfer was nominated for the Best Performance by a Human Female Award for her role as the new Sarah Kerrigan. She is nominated along with Dame Judi Dench (Blood Stone 007, M), Danica Patrick (Blur), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Call of Duty: Black Ops, Numbers Lady), Felicia Day (Fallout: New Vegas, Veronica), Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect 2, Commander Sheppard), Kristen Bell (Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Lucy Stillman), and Yvonne Strahovski (Mass Effect 2, Miranda Lawson).
The Most Anticipated Game Award has Batman: Arkham City, Bioshok: Infinite, Gears of War 3 and Portal 2. However, there is a link to submit your own choice. It must be an already announced category. I guess World of Warcraft: Cataclysm can be submitted by you as a choice since it’s an announced game with a defined release date. The entry says: “Don’t see your pick? No problem! Tell us, what’s the game you can’t wait to get your hands on?” You can submit your choice here.
Helfer doesn’t deserve a nomination for best performance. She wasn’t terrible, but she wasn’t good either. She’s no Glynnis Talken.
