The dialogue text transcript of the whole Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Human Campaign is now available. It’s been a busy holidays for me, to counter the boredom with more lore content.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will introduce a new Caverns of Time dungeon: The Culling. It is precisely in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos where Arthas’s downfall into insanity starts as he purged Stratholme’s citizens.
The Scourge plague had been brought to Stratholme within the dispatched grain crates which came from Andorhal. Previous to the Culling, Arthas accussed Uther the Lightbringer of treason for refusing to take part in the killing of an entire city. Arthas disbanded the Order of the Silver Hand, and proceeded to kill the citizens so that Mal’Ganis couldn’t claim them into the Scourge.
Mal’Ganis taunted Arthas, luring him to seek him in Northrend. The consequences of The Culling, changed Arthas forever. His thirst for vengeance led him down to the path of the new Death Knight. And ultimately to become the living vessel of Ner’Zhul the Lich King.
