MTV Multiplayer blog got a new exclusive sneak peek showing five pages of the World of Warcraft comic book issue# 2. In this issue, our amnesic hero is taken to Dire Maul Arena. The human is given the name Lo’gosh or “Croc-bait” after he was found unconscious on the shores of Durotar, prey of a croc who he beat in combat.
Now in Dire Maul, Orc Shaman Rehgar Earthfury sets the blood elf rogue, Night Elf Druid and the Human Gladiator to fight three opponents they defeat successfully, just to have a fourth opponent tossed at them in surprise … an orc blademaster. Orc-bait surprisingly defeats the blademaster. Back on Orgrimmar, the gladiators of the Crimson Ring visit the Hall of Legends.
SPOILERS:
It seems the assumption that this amnesic hero is King Varian Wrynn might have been hinted more clearly in issue# 2. At the Hall of Legends, Croc-bait sees a human belt carrying the Lion emblem of Stormwind. The Human recognizes it, and has a brief memory of the where he saw the Lion belt before … an old man tells a child to rest. Those who are old-school Warcraft fans may remember the Samwise artwork (1995) showing Lothar and a child, presummed to have been Varian as a chld. Take a look at the 5-pages sneak peek.
