The Wrath of the Lich King Closed Beta is about to start. Blizzard is preparing to unleash beta key emails to those who signed up to the Opt-In. Remember Blizzard will never ask for your personal account info nor password. Don’t click links on any email that says Blizzard. Instead type the worldofwarcraft.com URL manually to be safe.
If you already got your CD-key emailed go to this page to upgrade your Burning Crusade account to a Wrath of the Lich King account. This process will allow you to download the closed beta client.
If you haven’t signed up to the Closed Beta Opt-In you really should to be one of the random picked fans. Remember to visit Blizzplanet and other fansites once Blizzard announces Fansites Beta Contests.
Update 5:30am EST: WoWInsider reports WoW Europe has started to get CD-Key emails to join closed beta as of 6am Paris Time. USA might be getting these emails quietly soon today. Check out the email you registered your WoW Account with and make sure to search your junk mail or to add blizzard.com to the safe list. Again, beware fake emails that look like they came from Blizzard. Don’t click links in the email. Type the https://www.worldofwarcraft.com URL manually and paste the remaining text.
Patch Notes available at the WotLK Beta forums and below after the break … Thanks, Aldorian (Stratics)
